It is located in the Regi√≥n de Los Lagos, Chile (literally, ‚ÄúRegion of the Lakes.‚ÄĚ) The shipyard offers cutting edge technology in the shipbuilding and repairs. The shipyard was founded in 1990 in the city of Puerto Montt, at 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) to the south of Santiago. The shipyard keeps the knowledge of the main company DETROIT DIESEL ‚Äď MTU- ALLISON CHILE, which was founded in 1949, and the naval tradition of decades of naval construction and maintenance. ¬†The pattern offered by the shipyard includes design, architecture and engineering, helped by computing, cnc oxy gas and plasma cutting machines, and modern production techniques for constructions and repairs in aluminum and steel.
The current lifting capacity is 1,400 t and an area equals to 16,000 m2.
With more than 20 years of operation, the shipyard has developed over 150 projects, ranging from naval devices to modern high-speed ships, harbor and offshore tugs, and specialized ships for aquaculture.
In the repair section, important transformations have been developed in ferry-type ships, fishing vessels and general cargo ships, and it also gives maintenance to the regional fleet.
